Two in the palm is worth... ?

Palm just announced that they're going to be fracturing their product line to better isolate and serve their disparate markets of business users and home users.

Why is a "business user" more likely than a "home user" to need a cell phone? To want realtime data access? To be less likely to play a game while they're standing on line for something?

Granted, the actual services within those realms are likely to be different. Maybe the "home user" wants realtime Vindigo or weather reports instead of realtime stock ticker data or sales report (or just as likely not).

What's wrong with a device that will be usable both for business and pleasure?

With the advent of services like WeSync (don't get me started on that - this should be a core part of the platform, now that Palm owns it, but for some reason, it's been largely ignored), it should be trivial to support personal calendars and business calendars, yet it isn't done. Instead, Palm is now looking for us to buy completely separate devices.

Bleh.
