The New York Primer

Living in NYC gives you rules. This is a pretty good summary, but, as a native New Yorker, I have some points of disagreement:

  1. Native New Yorkers will always disagree with you in some form or another. Don't be offended, this is their way of saying "hello".
  2. The subways do indeed run on a schedule, which is available here.
  3. The "subways are always faster" rule does not apply after 11pm.
  4. Food. New York is a haven for food.
  5. Explore, find new restaurants off the beaten path. DO NOT GO TO OLIVE GARDEN.
  6. Buy food from street vendors. Except the honey-roasted nuts. They never taste as good as they smell.
  7. New Yorkers do not know everybody in New York. Except Jared Goldstein.
