  • Still getting the hang of the new digital camera. I'm testing colors and different kinds of shots. I don't know anyone who buys cereal in little boxes at a deli.

  • For a really long time, I remember all of the street signs in NY as being yellow. Then some were green. Then some were brown. Now, the new ones downtown are black. It's oddly unsettling. Also, I really dig the "Canyon of Heroes" thing.

  • Yes, the side of that truck says "Automatic Rolls of New England".
    No, I have no idea what that means.
    This picture was taken at night out the window of a moving car. We had to speed up suddenly to get alongside, and I think we freaked the driver out a bit. He seems to be waving, anyway.

  • I'm saddened and disappointed by the new student center at Columbia, mostly because it ended up being mostly administrative space and did little to help the sorry state of student organizations. Anyway, it makes nice reflections.
    They've replaced the broken glass panel.

  • Sometimes, things in New York get destroyed. When I took this picture, all kinds of people came up to us and started asking us questions about the tree that also got knocked over (which is not in this picture) - what were we going to do, did we already inform the parks department, things like that. They seemed a little disappointed when we told them we weren't affiliated with the building and were just walking by and taking pictures.

  • The Toronto night sky is very pretty. Unlike anywhere else I've been, at night, the lighting is simply effervescent. I don't think this photo adequately captures it, but it's cool anyway.

  • New York City periodically experiments with new train designs. This design seems to be one that they're actually using (i.e.: I've seen it more than once). It's very white.
