Why should I not buy a Sony Music Clip?

I thought Sony would get it right. Personal music players are their forte, no?

Sony blew this one bigtime. After being really happy to have finally been conviced that MP3 players had gotten good enough to me to shell out some cash for a good small one, I was incredibly disappointed. Much to my surprise, despite the fact that it's advertised as "supporting MP3", it doesn't do so unless you first import and convert the file to its own proprietary format, requiring you to double-store the file (not to mention the extra conversion time) if you ever want to use it as an MP3 again. The form factor of the actual device is great, but I'm incredibly turned off by the monopolistic attitude of the software. This puppy is going back.
